WHAT I'M EXCITED ABOUT THIS WEEK
UWS Theatre opened Kate Hamill’s Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fanstasy, Really on Halloween and it runs through next weekend. I love Kate Hamill as a playwright and the production photos look great! Tickets available here.
In honor of the 50th anniversary of the final voyage of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald, UMD Theatre is hosting a touring concert featuring Kevin Kling, Prudence Johnson, Ruth MacKenzie, and Claudia Schmidt. Gales of November is comprised of songs from the play Ten November, by Steven Dietz and composer-lyricist Eric Bain Peltoniemi. Tickets available here.

JOURNAL
My entire week has centered around God of Carnage rehearsals. This script is so brilliant and the cast is phenomenal. This week we’ll start incorporating tech elements. (I’m working on a vomit mechanism this weekend. It’s a comedy–I promise.) Do you have your tickets yet?
This autumn has been one of the all timers. The weather has stayed mild, so we’ve been able to enjoy the fall colors longer. The tamaracks are turning, which means my absolute favorite time of year is drawing to a close. These are a few of the trees in our yard. Photos, of course, never do them justice.
Corey came home for the weekend. We were able to play some games and knock out this cool license plate puzzle. (Their hands are strategically covering the three missing pieces.)
What I watched:
- Oslo, August 31st (2011). In preparation for the new Joachim Trier movie, I went back to the second of his "Oslo Trilogy". Beautiful, powerful, and sad as all get out. Incredible performances including Anders Danielsen Lie and Renate Reinsve (who rocks the tiniest of roles).

What I’m reading:
Almost no time to read this week, but I am enjoying a few pages of Eno’s book before bed when I can.
- What Art Does, Eno

MEMORIES
Twenty Years Ago:
Twenty years ago, we were deep in our “Halloween Years”. Costumes and trick or treating. It has been a very long time since any of this was part of our lives, but it’s always fun to see photos of our friends' kids in costume.
MY FAVORITE QUOTE OF THE WEEK
"I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers."
-- Lucy Maud Montgomery
That’s it for this week. Stay safe, friends. Thanks for reading!
